Considering people watch an average of 16 hours of online video per week, and 84 percent of people were convinced to purchase a product or service after watching a brand's video, it's safe to say that video creation is powerful.
While many individuals and organizations outsource this task, hiring video creators is expensive. That is why we have created this step-by-step guide, showcasing how our partners VEED and Epidemic Sound can replace your need for hiring video editors as a content creator. This can save you an immense amount of money, allowing you to increase your overall ROI and bottom line from your video sponsorships.
If your goal is to edit videos for YouTube, you may be wondering where you can source sound effects and music for videos free-of-charge. To edit videos like a pro, there are two platforms you can turn to, both of which are exclusive Curastory partners — VEED and Epidemic Sound.
Epidemic Sound offers royalty-free music and sounds effects. On this platform, you can choose from 32,000+ track and 64,000+ sound effects, across 170+ genres. VEED is a simple but powerful online video editor that allows you to add subtitles and edit your video content easily. The available editing tools help you tackle complex tasks in just a few clicks.
Both of these platforms are Curastory's complimentary editing resources for content creators like yourself.

Although it's not mandatory to create an account, if you'll be using VEED often, it's highly recommended. You can also access your Curastory account in VEED, allowing you to upload videos that are up to 100 GB (or two hours in length). This access will be granted by Curastory via a link that will be sent to you via email.
Find Your Name on Folder
Under normal circumstances, you'll see your name under the "folders" header after you log in. Click on that folder, which will give you the option to create a new project (click on the icon located in the top right-hand corner).
New Project Video Upload
To upload your video, you will be given four options as shown below. For example, my device will allow you to select a video directly from your laptop files. Once you do so, click upload.
Once your video is uploaded, you can begin editing. Type the name of your video in the "project name" area, which will allow you to keep track of your videos. As you can see below, VEED makes video editing very simple. For example, to select the size of your video, click on the drop-down menu and select the option that best suits your needs (i.e. square, 16:9, 4:5, etc.).
You can also select your Background Color and then for Audio , you'll want to select clean audio. All of these editing options are found under the "settings" tab.
Upload Audio Files
Below the settings tab, you'll see an "upload" tab. Here, you can upload a secondary video to add it to your current video, as well as an image to embed in your video. This is also where you'll upload an audio file, either from Epidemic Sound or an audio file of your own.
Add Audio Subtitles
Under "subtitles," you have three different options. For example, under the auto option, you can select the language for VEED to detect, automatically implementing subtitles.
To add text, click on the "text" tab and make a selection. Once you click on one of three options, you will see the screen below. Type your text and edit accordingly.
You can even draw on your video, selecting your brushstroke, the color, duration, and more. Here is where you can also cut the video length using the little blue funnel, located at the bottom of your screen.
Once you're happy with your video, you can go ahead and click "export" — which is located on the top right-hand side of your screen. This may take a few minutes.
When your video has uploaded, click on the little pink "privacy" icon, located on the bottom left-hand side of the screen. From there, you can select the option that best suits you. Then, to get back to the main dashboard, click on the VEED.IO icon. Go back to the folder you originally selected and you'll see your video.

Another Curastory partner, Epidemic Sound offers royalty-free sounds and music, organized by featured, genres, moods, and albums. There are also categories that cover everything from Christmas to cinematic, fashion to travel.
Under genre, you'll find a wide selection of options, ranging from classical to funk, hip hop to acoustic. After making your selection, you will be able to narrow down your search based on vocals, length, and even beats-per-minute.
As you can see, under vocals, you have the option to choose with vocals or just instrumental. You can then proceed to test files to see which is the best fit. While working with Curastory, simply write down the name of the track, the artist, the categories, and the length of the song. This information will be sent to your content concierge so that the track can be sent back to you as an mp3 or a wave file.
